Elected Representatives should peform the job we send them to do

The idea is very simple. Our elected representatives should perform the job we send them to do. As Republicans, your job is to set the example. Don’t live up to the negative stereotypes, as portrayed by the press. Never ever lower yourself to such behavior.

Stop fussing over somebody else’s bedroom practices! Yours are bad enough, so don’t point the finger at others. I don’t know anything good about abortion, but if you want to make an issue about it, make sure, absolutely without question sure, that you have means to appropriately, and compassionately deal with the issues that bring people to make the choice to terminate pregnancies. All of them! Not everybody has the opportunities and abilities, and privileges that you do! “Just say no” is not the answer! There is a reason that our party is called “the party of no”. Stop giving it some legitimacy!

Remember this too: stop throwing stones, because YOU DO live in a glass house. Mudslinging only turns everything into a giant pig sty! It is not about winning at any cost. We cannot afford the costs you pile onto us. It is about providing us with more bang for our buck. Rather than dwell on the negatives of your opponents, provide positives to earn our votes. As much as you believe otherwise, you do not deserve our votes, you must EARN them! Stop believing your consultants and campaign managers, when they tell you that attacking your opponents’ faults will gain you votes. Your opponent will do the same, and then we the voters are left with choosing the lesser of two evils. That is not winning, it is losing!!!!! If you insist on pointing your finger in accusation, start pointing at the person in your mirror!

Offer the voters winning ideas and actions. Make them pragmatic, effective, and thoughtful, but most important make them realistic and easily implemented. “Feel good” issues are like passing gas in an elevator. You are the only one who feels good about it! Sure, everybody in the elevator smiles at first, but it doesn’t take long for the elevator to empty out at the next floor!

If you do earn our favor, and get elected to office, follow through on your campaign promises! How is all this hope and change working for us now??? Always remember that you are an employee of your constituents. Your constituents are not banks, drug manufacturers, oil corporations, mining corporations, construction contractors, etc. etc. So stop putting your hand out to corporate lobbyists. Yes, of course they have the right to lobby ( yes, there is a legitimate question to this! ), but they do not have the right to make you there puppet, so you can get re-elected. When you take their money, you will become their puppet. Of course you don’t believe this, but it always happens. ALWAYS!!! Stop being a legend in your own mind. You are not as good as you think you are. If you want to get re-elected, it is not about how much money you can earn, it is about how much confidence, trust, and respect you earn, through hard work, honesty, and accomplishments.

Most of your accomplishments are not worthy of media sound bites, and photo opportunities. Your accomplishments are your job. This is what you were sent to office to do. Stop congratulating yourself. If you do something worthy of praise, it will come to you. You do not need to go chasing after it. You will only be chasing your own tail!

Alright alright, yes, everything I just wrote is full of tired clichés, but so is everything you have ever campaigned on! Just do a good, honest, humble and fair job, and you will be amazed how far this will take you! Please, go ahead and do this, it is expected of you. Illinois has become the brunt of many political jokes, stop feeding this reality!

Thanks and best regards,

Sam Pyne
