Department of Corrections

The Department of Corrections house offenders who are illegal aliens for the term of their sentence and then turn them over to ICE for deportation. Why if they commit crimes in Illinois do the taxpayers pay for their housing, medical and education only to turn them over to the feds for deportation at the conclusion of their sentence. It would appear to me that given the current economy these offenders should be immediately turned over to ICE instead of being housed and afforded the rights of citizens until they have served their sentence. This is also costing the taxpayer money and is not in anyway benefiting the general public.
In addition, these offenders score low on TABE test upon admission to the Department of Corrections and end up taking pirority in enrollment in educational classes above convicted citizens of the state and country. Illegals should not be enrolled in prison programing designed to reintegrate the convicted into society prior to offenders who are natural born citizens who will be paroled to the community and not to another country.
