Child Support Orders & Collections

Years ago the idea of a national registry for Child Support Orders was the big buzz in the payroll world. Whatever happended to the concept? Each State would enter the information in a computer database and when the New Hire Report is sent in, the system would cross-match, generate and send by computer, the Order to the employer. The employer would then reply a confirmation of receipt. This way the deduction could start immediately and cut down on the parents skipping out. I have several employees over the years quit their job as soon as they knew the paperwork caught up to them. Would save a lot of money on paper and certified mail costs for both the court system and the employer.
